COVID-19: Working Of HC Restricted to Utmost Urgent Cases till 31st March

Due to Outbreak of Coronavirus, Punjab & Haryana High Court has restricted its working to utmost urgent cases and has adjourned all its cases Listed for 23.03.2020 to 24.04.2020. It has further adjourned all the cases till 31.03.2020.

The working of the court during the said period is restricted only to the cases of utmost urgency. It was also stated in the Notification that During this period, The Registry shall not entertain Ordinary Filing and Benefit of this period shall be extended to the Litigants in case Limitation of any case expires during this period.

All the Officers of the HC was directed to Work from Home.

It was Further resolved that, In the states of Punjab And Haryana as well as Union Territory of Chandigarh, all the District and Sub Divisional Courts will also function restrictively From 23.03.2020 to 31.03.2020. All the cases already fixed for the said period shall be adjourned by the respective District and Session Judge by making appropriate arrangements.

It was further resolved that the filing of the Fresh cases in which Limitation period is going to expire during the said period, shall be allowed to be filed.
