COVID-19: ‘Lawyers should not use saliva for affixing Court Fee stamps’, [Read Circular]

The notification passed by District and Session Judge (HQs), Delhi states that,”Lawyer/Munshis/Law Clerks/Police Officers should not use saliva while affixing the Court fee stamps on the application/ Petition and envelopes containing summons/notices or while pagination or inspection of files”.

It was stated in the Circular that Lawyers should use plastic sponge damper while paginating the files and inspecting the files.

The above directions have been passed to minimize the effect of COVID-19 in the Delhi District Courts.

It is further directed that direction should be complied with seriously.

Due to the outbreak of coronavirus and subsequent lockdown, the Delhi High Court and District Courts functioning has been suspended till 23 May,2020. However, the High Court is hearing urgent matters via VC while District Court are dealing primarily with urgent matter like Bail Applications.
