Latest News

Lawyer of Nirbhaya convicts, AP Singh, who helped the 4 convicts in filing multiple petitions challenging the execution, burst out on Thursday outside the Patiala House court & said this is judicial killing. AP Singh also said that the convicts have already been killed 4 times & they are not terrorist.

“Media pressure has already killed them. They have been killed 4 times with 4 death warrants. They have been hanged 3 times,” said lawyer AP Singh, who has been representing the Nirbhaya convicts in court.

The four Nirbhaya case convicts – Pawan Gupta, Akshay Singh, Mukesh Singh & Vinay Sharma – have been ordered to be hanged on March 20 in a fresh death warrant issued by the Delhi court on Thursday.

The Delhi court issued a fresh death warrant against the four convicts. They will be hanged at 5.30 am on Mar 20.

Reacting to the decision, the lawyer for the convicts termed the hanging order a “judicial killing”.

“Teen baar aur phansi de chuke ho. Yeh aatankvadi nahi hai, aap inka judicial killing kar rahe ho (They have been hanged three times. They are not terrorists, this is judicial killing),” said AP Singh.

The lawyer also said, “The court tells us I am playing with fire this means I am being harassed & threatened.”

As the order is being touted as the final death warrant after all 4 convicts exhausted all their legal options, the lawyer claimed that Akshay still has some legal options left. He said that Akshay has already filed a second mercy petition.

Tihar Jail authorities told the court that they have no information about the second mercy petition.
