Allahabad High Court Judge, Justice Virendra Kumar Srivastava succumbs to COVID-19

Justice Virendra Kumar Srivastava, a sitting judge of the Allahabad High Court has passed away after being afflicted by COVID-19.

Justice Srivastava was sitting at the Lucknow Bench of the Allahabad High Court.

He obtained his law degree in 1986 and completed his post-graduate studies in 1988. He was, thereafter, appointed in the Higher Judicial Service in 2005. He was promoted as District and Sessions Judge in 2016.

Between September 20, 2016, and November 21, 2018, he served as Principal Secretary (Legislative).

He was appointed as an Additional Judge of the Allahabad High Court on November 22, 2018 and was made a Permanent Judge on November 20, 2020.

His term was set to expire in December 2023.

A few days ago Justice Srivastava was holding Court and due to medical problem he was shifted to PGI Lucknow, where today he succumbed to death.
