The Supreme Court on Thursday, August 20, disposed of the petitions filed by some students seeking cancellation of the upcoming CBSE Compartment Examinations 2020. However, the apex court has said that the petitioners can challenge the notification released by the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) on compartment exams for students who have failed in one of the five main subjects.
The petitioners told SC that the CBSE compartment exam must be cancelled in view of current situation due to the Covid-19 pandemic. During the SC hearing, advocate Shakti Pandey said that the CBSE Board must release the exam dates in case it is not able to cancel the compartment exams.
The CBSE Board had earlier announced that the compartment exams of Class 10 and Class 12 will be conducted in September 2020. The Board has not yet announced the exact dates of the compartment examinations. The online application window for CBSE 10th and 12th Compartment examinations 2020 is active on the official website of the Board. Those who want to apply for the CBSE Compartment Examinations 2020 can visit the official website of the Board – cbse.nic.in – to submit online application form for compartment examination.
The CBSE said that for class 12, regular candidates who appeared in February/March 2020 through schools affiliated to the Board and declared as Compartment are eligible to apply only in one subject which was placed in Compartment.
For class 10, regular candidates who appeared in February/March 2020 through schools affiliated to the Board and declared as Compartment are eligible to apply in one or two subjects which were placed in Compartment, CBSE added.
