Bengaluru Police have launched a hunt for a private college professor after they received a complaint of cheating against him from a 24-year-old woman. The complainant, a native of Bengaluru’s Devanahalli, claimed that the professor tied the knot with her without telling her about his first marriage, as per reports.
Professor keeps first marriage secret
Shilpa (name changed), the complainant, said that she came in contact with the private college professor, identified as Murthy alias Murtthanna of Whitefield, in Sept 2020. He told her that he was a bachelor. Shortly afterwards, he asked her to marry him.
She asked him to talk to her family about it. Following this, he met with her family members & their wedding was fixed.
According to a report by the news agency, Shilpa tied the knot with Murthy in a temple in Devanahalli on March 15. 2 days later (March 17), a woman, along with 2 minor children, arrived at Shilpa’s matrimonial house. The woman alleged that she was the first wife of Murthy & the minors were their kids.
“Murthy was in the house. When we asked him, he answered in the affirmative & locked himself in a room. The woman threatened me with legal consequences before leaving. A little later, Murthy left the house & never returned,” the report quoted Shilpa as saying.
Following this, Shilpa decided to lodge a cheating complaint against Murthy. Police, after receiving her complaint, sprang up in action & initiated efforts to trace Murthy.
