A 45-year-old lawyer, Vimal Jha, allegedly kidnapped his client & tortured him at a farmhouse in Nashik after the latter refused to pay his Rs 3 crore fee.
The Lawyer had got his client Navnath Gole, owner of a shipping company, bail in a cheating case in the Apex Court & was demanding his fee for the same.
Jha kidnapped Gole on April 2, according to Police official Vimal Bidwe. He also forced his client to transfer his property before torturing him, said Sub-Inspector Shatraghna Mali.
The Kharghar police in Navi Mumbai have now arrested Vimal Jha, according to the news agency.
